Welcome "Muff Bandit", i've been an Alienware fan for ages but more so since the M15X and "theoretical" M17X were revealed.

I too have heard various bad reports about Alienware being rubbish, too expensive blah blah blah

When i found this vast source of useful and sometimes not so useful information (to be fair most of it is very useful) i found that the "other" opinions were mostly biased and from other manufactures  (delicately put eh?) and not really based on real user-testing etc.

Welcome to NBR NotebookReview, an honest and very helpful forum for people who own or are thinking of owning Alienware products (well, the Alienware part anyway :D )

I also got loads of crap remarks when i told people that i had ordered an alienware. Going from the classic "I'd build it myself and save 2k Euro for exactly the same system" to the envious "You're paying 1k extra purely for that stupid alienhead". I've always built my own desktops and when i decided to get a laptop i didn't feel like doing all the research to build one from scratch. I for once wanted to buy a system that packed all the punch i needed wrapped in an imba looking package. The funny thing is that when 90% of the people who flamed me for going with alienware see my system for the first time and notice how smooth it runs they either go very quiet or admit that it's one helluva cool laptop. There is of course always that 10% that will never understand but to each his own right?

Filipinos will definitely do anything to have an Alienware. lol (well, most of them) :)

I haven't decided yet, but the people here, specifically in the Alienware forum, are very helpful in so many ways.

I build and recommend desktops to different people here in Philippines. but when dad said I'll get a laptop, I turned to the people here, and they're great! I know the desktop and the laptop share the basics one way or another, but I have to admit I am not updated when it comes to mobile components. ;)

this forum, as well as the whole site, is truly an informative laptop source.

That's one sweet machine you've got there. I was looking at the ALX before the M17X was released.

This forum has been great. Honest opinions and answer. Some go overboard but over allmost people have been quite level headed.

:D Snap! :) I start work at 8am, first thing i do is log on and check the "news" and then make coffee, i'd guess i actually start work at 8:30 lol

Glad to hear you're not leaving, to be honest if everybody only stayed until there problems were sorted out, then left. There would be none to help new people.

I'm of the opinion that as we all get the same help and support, it's only fair to share the knowledge etc. :p

    Just my 2p
