basically, tempted to jump in and get another... and i've been reading up a lot on the recent improvements AW made in their machines.

iirc, the m9750 is more positive than negative, overall, it was a very nice machine, right?

it still is, for many who own it... but my question is...

i'm not looking to stay on top of the world by owning the "latest and the fastest" for a duration of say, a month at most?... i'm looking to get a good machine... 17" or so...

tho i like the sound of the 8800gtx, only game i'm into these days is warcrack and perhaps some Total War... it's not too demanding...

so, in light of the recent release of the m15x, does the recent price adjustments of the m9750 make it a good buy?

for the games you would be playing it's a pretty good buy, but either way add the 3 year warranty that's +300$, tax + shipping another 300. It still gets pricy.

The m9750 w/ SLI video (NOT 8700's because they SUCK!) is an awesome buy at the moment. I paid $1100 more then they are asking now for the same system 2.5 months ago. I love my m9750 and think that the m15x is just too new. Give AW 2-3 months to get all the parts they need in stock to fill the current orders and give them some time to use the first buyers as their "beta testers" so they can work out all the kinks.

I don't regret my m9750 at all. It was expensive but its been stable (since Vista SP1) and the current nVidia drivers. No complaints at all.

If you want to be "cool" because you have the newest, latest & greatest gadget then get the m15x and join the rest of the whiners when it takes over 6 weeks to recieve it. Or just buy the 9750, get it in ~1.5 weeks and gloat to all those still waiting for their "little" 15" toys.
