Put that $50 towards windows 7 and it wont take a month to boot anymore lol. I'm not aware of turbo memory doing anything but making you boot faster I could be wrong.

LoL Turbo Memory works like a flash drive or SDHC memory card with ReadyBoost......... So its practically waste of money...

Not really, it's many times faster than flash drives and it allows you to "PIN" certain programs to the drive for faster access. It basically gives you 4GB's of super fast low latency multi hundred megabyte per second flash memory, like found in the Intel Extreme family of SSD's. I just got one though and am trying to get it to work in a SXPS 1645 and so far it's not functional, but I just installed it. The SXPS 1645 has the PM55 chipset. I found some information that says the desktop version of the chipset supports it but can't find information for the mobile version. Plus, Dell might not have support in the BIOS yet. I installed mine in the WWAN adapter and installed the drivers, everything looks installed and operational from the Device Manager but the Intel Turbo Memory Dashboard say's it's either not functioning properly or not installed.

Ok guys, I got it working in my Dell Studio XPS 1645 with Core i7 820QM and PM55 chipset. Using the latest drivers, make sure to enable "user-pinning" by adding the -UP flag to the installation command-line, ie run "driverpackage.exe -UP" - ReadyDrive with user Pinning is working great here. If you can't enable ReadyDrive then try reinstalling the Intel Turbo Memory drivers with the above switch (-UP).

As a tip, you'll need to use either the WLAN or WWAN minicard slots on your computer for it to work, most likely. If I'm right only those two slots have PCI-Express buses connected to them and the PAN slot only has USB, which won't work. If you don't know the different the usual configuration for the slots are:

WWAN: PCI-Express only (usually used for the cellphone modems)
WLAN: PCI-Express and USB (usually used for WiFi and WiMAX adapters)
WPAN: USB only (usually used for Bluetooth and Ultra Wide Band cards (Wireless USB, etc))

    Certain

Other tip, if you want to buy one, the cheapest place to do it is eBay and Bing. Goto Bing shopping and sign up for Bing cashback, and follow the eBay link in the Bing stores section for 8% cashback. Then find the store Buy.com and they usually have the Intel Turbo Memory 2.0 4GB Minicard for about $66+S&H, and you might be eligible for eBay bucks - with the two cash discounts you'll get it for about $65 which is the cheapest around for brand new, shipped item.

I had the turbo memory for my m15x before, but after testing the system with and without the turbo memory, the whole system just felt "better" without the turbo memory. Everything seemed to go faster from boot up to shut down.

Running Vista 32 bit, by the way
