has anyone else had bad lag after updating to win7?
it lags when i type and when i play music (producing an awful crackling sound). It lags when i open or close programs, pretty much anything. i havn't even tried playing games yet, if typing is to difficult for it.

    specs: M17
    2.00 ghz quad-core
    4gb RAM
    500gb HDD (raid 0)
    ati 3870 x 2

i installed win 7 a few days ago, all drivers are the most up-to-date available from alienware (as per the m17 win7 guide on this forum)
in addition to that i succesfully mod modded ati display driver 9.11

i went into visual options and toned down win7 aero but it is still problematic. anything?

I have the same problem with the M17x. When loading, windows 7 takes like 10 minutes just to get to the logon screen. Then when i try to log in its just a blank black screen with my mouse. I called dell and this indian dell rep made me reinstall windows 7 and kept insisting that it was faster than before even if he couldn't see my screen. After reinstalling 7, it was still slow as hell and went back to vista.
