I've been having problems with alienFX and my function buttons.
The buttons that control bluetooth, wireless, and stealth mode all have horrible response. It takes two or three tries to get them to work. and then the image that prompts me that i have actually done something has a 2 second delay. so if i switch stealth mode on or off, it takes me 3 tries to get it to work, then another 2 seconds to see if i have actually done something.
AlienFX won't even come up. i installed every driver that alienware gives me and still nothing.
the touchpad will NOT shut off and i see no setting on the mouse driver to fix it.
Also, i cannot seem to get wireless on this machine. i have no wireless driver and alienware seems to have forgotten to put it in the driver section on their website, crackerjack group of (expletive) don't you think?
Can anyone assist me with these issues?

Was it like that since you bought it? Maybe a Windows restore would help fix those problems? I'm sure if you emailed them that they'll give you all the right drivers. Installing the new BIOS might help, too.

Mine tended to do this after being put into sleep mode (wouldn't respond at all or not well) eventually fixed the problem but ended up with another which has led to the m15x going to the shop for repair
rebooting usually fixes the problem. However being touch controls they will still be a little wonky no matter what I'm afraid. Still kinda cool though
If you go into myhive or drivers on their site you will find the alienfx command center and lightpipe patch. The driver for the keyboard/mouse should be synaptics I believe. Keyboard seems to work better without it though. And uh they should have the wifi driver to (intel) if not get it from intel. Didn't your system come with some discs in the owners binder? -
have you tried the new BIOS (v41) for the touch controls?
-
haven't tried new bios, no idea how to install a new bios, ive never done that.
can;t find wifi drivers and the ones on the cd don't seem to work. i'll try looking around their site again for the alienFX drivers but i'll probably need their help.
any way to fix the delay in the on screen prompts when i push the function buttons? -
well i believe the v41 BIOS was made exactly for people with your problems, so i'd definitely give it a try. there should be install instructions with the BIOS.
-
Alright i'll give it a shot.

if your touch control buttons are not functioning correctly you need to reinstall the OSD drivers.

i just did install the OSD drivers. they work but not properly. they do what they are supposed to do just fine, but the on screen prompt is delayed two seconds. which i find highly annoying.
