Hi, I have a m11x here with SU7300 4GB RAM 250GB 7200rpm HDD. I personally think windows startup is a little slow. It takes a lot longer then even my C2D laptop that I'm replacing this with and that one was with a C2D5450 which isn't all that impressive. I was wondering if its because of the software loaded on by Dell and if anyone here see significant loadup time difference between factory image of windows and clean installed windows. Thanks.

Slow? This thing boots faster than my HP HDX Dragon which has a C2D T8300 @ 2.4ghz

I also found the start up slow.
For me it was a combination of the aliensense and the alienfusion that were adding over 30 secs to my start up.
I turned off aliensense and the stopped the alienfusion service and now my startup time is really quick.

aliensense is a resource hog, and doesn't even work all that well. highly recommend disabling it like ninja said.

I do believe I have aliensense all the way to the left and it should be disabled... but it still slow.. the person that said it was blazing fast, you are probably on a SSD....
So is there anyone out there that did a clean install on their m11x and could share some information on the performance? Thanks... The only thing that I'm not liking this laptop is the slow start up really....

I had a WD320GB 7200RPM drive and my start up time seemed pretty quick. At the moment I have a 256GB Samsung drive and my start up time is about 30-31 sec. That includes time for me to enter the password too.

well not blazing fast, but fast none the less, I'm on 500GB HDD 7200rpm. I'll time it for you. This is on cpu OC/stock GPU and drivers. Aliensense is turned off

    Edit:

1 minute 20 seconds (including entering password), is that what you define slow?

My m11x takes 38 seconds to boot from hitting the power button. I have msse, steam, and some other side gadget stuff loading up on start up too. Shrug, it's faster than my desktop lol. This is on ocz agility.
