Hello there, just recieved my m11x yesterday, i have been having little success in trying to hook it up to my hdtv however :( and thought this would be the best place to come for some help.
Once hooked up, on my hdtv the laptop picture appears to be big for the hdtv, ive tried ifddling with the setting but havent had much luck yet, any help would be lovely!

I would use the dedicated nvidia card output, and go into the nvidia control panel this should allow you to control all the HDTV outputs.

tried adjusting the screen resolutions in that but although it changes it on the laptop, it doesnt really make a difference on the tv.

on you tv also you should have a setting of either 'full' or 'dot by dot', which obviously you would want dot by dot
when i plug my m17x in i have the tv on this setting and the laptop automatically adjusts to the correct setting for the screen (using dot by dot/ or pixel by pixel) - TVs will most likely vary

and what resolution is you laptop set at, and what is your tv capable of? 1080p? your tv should tell you when signal your getting should be 720p from a m11x right?

on my alienware you dont have to do that it jus replicates the screen and gives u 1080p on either, try messing around with the resolution on your laptop and try get it to fit to screen

TVs tend to have a bit of an overscan, where some pixels are considered off screen. I use a 720p Samsung 42" with some video conference software and it cuts off a good deal of some of the interface (mostly can't read the clock). Some TVs have the option to weak overscan in their interface (stuff like full pixel representation). I've also heard people having some success customizing their video output using a program called powerstrip.
