Ahhh... what are instant keys?
-
Bluetooh Key
Whireless LAN Key
Alien Comand Center Key
Stealth Mode Key
Volume Control
-
I see... All mine work. Quite well...
But I do know they have given lots of problems to lots of people. -
the touch sensitive buttons? Do you have the lastest Bios X32 and the Vista Servicepack installed? If not then you should try this.
saint -
sorry to hear of the troubles.
my keys did not work at all for the first day.
tech support took over by using alien contact and loaded new drivers and patches but with no joy.
the next day i was tring to load my external x-fi card but that didnt want to work either. in frustration i pulled the card out and the computer froze. after a re boot the card worked and strangely enough so did all the keys.
that might have been a fluke for me but it could be something loose inside.
thats just a guess though. -
saint: I am using XP Proff not Vista ...
DJ: so I am not the only black sheep huh ?
PS: System BIOS Version vX30 P3A31 ... ooops :d -
yeah you should upgrade
-
the new bios has fixed several problems with the touch controls
-
Aha ! So i guess my "alienware name" problem is also fixed on the new BIOS (hopfuly).
Now I have another question (hopfuly after that I wont bug you ppl-yea right): were can i download the latest BIOS version ? (I don't have such a thing in <My Hive>).
Thanks in advance
Iulian -
go to alienware.com then click on support then you'll see my hive near the bottom of the screen.
-
Yea, like I said, well in My hive I only got 2 or 3 drivers that I can download ...
-
The updated BIOS file should be under the video card section.
-
RGR, I got it now (after a mail to AW) ...
-
cool, let us know if the new BIOS works for you...
-
RGR , I will update it later when ill get home
Ill let u know how it (and IF) it works -
The BIOS they have available for download (X32) will NOT fix the touch sensitive controls. I have updated and they still only work 60% of the time after I restart the computer/ wake-up from standby.
I've been told that they are working on a new BIOS update X33 which addresses the touch controls and other glitches but it's not finalized yet (this was yesterday). -
RGR, thanks for the reply
NOTED !
I will wait for 33 then
Damn , AW always answer people problems so "fast" ? (I didn't have a word from them for like 3 days and I have now in total 4 Questions) .. -
I've had the same problem with my touch sensitive buttons not working as well. Tech support re-installed drivers, I've updated bios 32, and have vista SP1 and they still work when they want to. I have to shut down the system and remove the battery and then they will work for a while. Any luck on a fix??????
