I just received my laptop today, and had a 10,000 score in PCMark06. Is this good? I have my laptop specs in my signature.
Thanks in advance!
-
-
you mean 3dmark06? that's very sweet score
-
Real good. I can only get about 8900 with my m9750 with 7950SLI
-
Yes, 3DMark06. I'm sorry.
-
Guys... is the SSD or Turbo Memory (I can't believe it!) helping him achieve that score ? Also what resolution did you run it at ?
-
I'm just using the score from the test the Alienware tech ran when he built the computer. They leave an XML file on your desktop called "My PC Information.xml". Gives you the results of their benchmark tests after they built it.
-
I would say with a 19x screen that score is almost impossible, where did you get that score from? Did you rund 3dmark by yourself or took that from the xml sheet on your desk?
edit:
ok that explains it, alienware uses a lower resolution to run 3dmark to score higher
-
And was it EXACTLY 10,000 ? In that case, I wouldn't believe it!
-
Crystallized can you run it again with 1280x1024? I am very curious about what SSD can do.
-
I rounded. It was 9,938 3DMarks
-
I'll download it and try, gimme a few.
-
I'll have to download it when I get home (I'm at work). I only have a 64MB flash drive and the file is over 500MB.
-
64MB ? Man.. is that drive from like 1990s ?
Anyway, what OS are you running ?
-
I bought the flash drive with my old Inspiron 8500 back in 2002? Damn thing cost $49 from Dell back in the day. I didn't know anything about buying laptops (or accessories) back then. I went to a buy.com after I got it delivered and noticed they had some 64MB ones for $19.99. GO DELL!
I'm running Vista Home Premium, 32Bit -
Wow then that score is pretty damn good! What driver are you using ? Again, try running the test at 1280x1024 resolution if you don't mind
I'd really like to know if that SSD is helping....
-
my first MP3 player had 64MB back to 2000, JVC, cost me $300
-
I'd run it now if I had the file. Don't suppose you know how to cut up a file into peices 60MB in size without installing anything on your computer (like WinRAR)? I'm on a corporate computer, and IT doesn't like us installing crap that isn't business related.
-
Anyone Anyone?
-
No way a M15x used corporately. That's a first.
-
No no....I'm at work on a corporate computer and can download the file. But I have no way to get the 500-something meg file from the corporate desktop to my laptop.
-
Yeah use winrar and split it when archiving. Then transfer and use winrar to recombine and extract.
-
Hi Crystallized
i cant wait for you to post your scores. the readings have been up and down for lots of people but i own the world record for getting the lowest score using 3Dmark06
drum roll ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, 3559 yippee, go me, get the flags out.
on my first day it was 9698 and 2 weeks later it was 3559
the score in the AW document on your desktop says i had a score of 10,333
i hope you have a problem free m15 and dont end up like us as just another statistic. -
if you dont like winrar use hjsplit. if you dont want to do that then the only way left is to redownload the file onto the laptop. unlike winrar hjsplit you will not need to install. it is just a simple exe.
-
I use hjsplit to split up my movies. Winrar sometimes hits you with the "corrupted" file message. I hate this.
-
Never used hjsplit before. It worked like a charm. I'm slowly moving the files over now. I'll run 3DMark06 in a few.
-
Who want's to bet that he'll get around the 9,700 score?
-
Ok, I'm running the test now. My desktop resolution is 1920x1200 currently. But I don't think 3dMark06 is running at that resolution. How do I tell 3dMark06 to only run the test at a given resolution?
-
Crystallized please run it at 1280x1024, this is the standard testing resolution.
-
Apparently I need to be online to retrieve my score after the test..../grrr
I guess I'll have to post it when I get home and have an internet connection. -
hmm?? you don't need internet to retrieve your score. you should have something like this:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=18618&d=1210903446 -
^thats only in the advanced edition.
-
What does the 3dMark06 test cover?
-
Aw factory score always higher. They gave me a score of 10,388 3dmark 06. I ran and got 9987 (1st week of usage). As of last week my score went down to 9966. I am using 9300 2.5ghz, 4gb ram, 1 gb turbo memory, 1440x900, 8800GTX, vista sp1. I ran the test using the free default version.
My previous m15x system (T7700 2.4GHz, 2gb ram, 1gb turbo memory score 9653 (b4 vista sp1). Updated to vista sp1 score: 9717. -
This is what I got. I got around 9,900 with 1024x768. -
when alienware ran 3Dmarks06 on my m15x it said it could get 10,300 when i ran it it was at 9100 really dont no how they managed to get it that high
-
by lower resolution, let's say 800x600?
-
Can you do 1280 by 1024?
-
where is the OP?
-
Show off.
@Crystallized, your score will appear on one of those tabs after running the test. -
Can't select that resolution for some reason.
-
Of course, because you have a 1440x900 screen.
-
What I thought.
-
nice scores, lets hope they stay that way.
-
I scored 10,056 on 3DMark06 with my m15x
-
Yeah what settings?
-
They may just run the 3d mark demo, which only works at 1280 x 1024 if i a not mistaken. that is the usual number people use to comapare, is it not?
-
It cant run @ 1280 X 1024 if their computer is WXGA+
-
The benchmark can be run off native resolution, as can any application. For proof, just go to the control panel on ther computer and adjust the resolution to something else. It may look worse, but the image is still there, and the scaling itself should not affect the score. (It will be higher because there are fewer pixels to generate, just like on a native 1280 x 1024 monitor.)
-
My Alienware M15x .... but max resolution 1440 x 900 ... I can't benchmark 1280 x 1024 .
3Dmark06 : 1280 x 720
-
now thats what i call a good score.
m15x - Is 10,000 score good on PCMark06?
