    i'm buying a hd3870 for my m15x and i currently have a 8800m gtx installed. do i need to change the Heat sink? which card is better in performance anyway? and by how much? not benchmarks, real-time gameplay.

    8800M GTX is better than the HD3870 probsbly by about 15-20%, also the HD3870 uses a different heatsink. I hope this helps. God Bless :)

    Yes, you already have the best "official" card for m15x and do not need to down-grade to HD 3870. 8800m GTX is superior in gaming performance compared to HD 3870.

    8800m gtx is better

    The 880m heatsink should work with the 3870 just fine.
