    Help me, I`m in Hell....

This is my first post on this forum, so I`d like to say Respect to all and let you know that you guys really helped me in choosing my new laptop (m15x).
Currently I`m working as a part of the production team on a cruise ship and I don`t get to see land too often (now you know why I need my m15x), and when I finally got it, it worked supreme. Everything I started worked like a charm (aside from Vista, it`s even worse then Windows Millenium). This is my first time on Vista, and I`m really want to go back to XP, but that is a different story. When I tried to run alcohol 120% I got the famous blue screen and Vista didn`t want to boot again, so I reinstalled the system, and everything was ok, but I couldn`t install nvidia`s driver fo 8800gtx (it sad that it couldn`t find any drivers that can run with my hardware). I checked the properties of geforce and, to my surprise, it showed itself to be a 8-bit nvidia standard vga adapter with 14 mb of memory. I tried everything and I can`t make it to work. My integrated Intel is working just fine, but when I switch to geforce , it`s a 8-bit, 14mb graphics card.

Help my, because I will go insane without my Zen phase on this ship... :(

If what he said above didn't work try this:

Relax..go to the official Alienware website..click Support at the top...go down to Drivers and Downloads..then select the appropriate options to get to your m15x graphics drivers. Download the GPU driver then install it. hope this helps.

OMG... you basically live on a cruise ship and game on your M15X... I'm sure it's safe to say everyone here hates you...

From what I've heard, you can't use any driver other than what AW provides - it won't see the 8800m GTX right and won't work well at all.

depends on how much software you have I might do a restore and for the record virtualdrivepro 11.5 works great with vista.

Hey man, here is what I would do. I would download the Alienware Drivers off of their site again. I would also use my SLi guide to make sure that your previous drivers are 100% gone (this includes using driversweeper). This will help to ensure that you get the best install possible.

I believe that the problem is with my pci controller, when I installed new Vista, device manager showed me that pci controller is not working properly, and the video card is still an 8-bit, 14mb PnP nvidia standard vga adapter. I`ll try to install Vista 64-bit, maybe that`s going to run the controller the way it should be, maybe then I`ll be able to install nvidia`s video driver .55...

    Who knows...I`ll keep you posted...

    Thanx again... :)

I took a trip on the Grandeur last spring break, best vacation EVER by far. RCI knows how to treat their customers.

    FINALLY!!!!

I sorted out the pci bus, installed a new nvidia driver .55 (downloaded from Alienware`s site), and to my awe, I can see my 8800gtx again!!! Joy and happiness... I still can`t believe that Alienware sent me a disc with a faulty driver, especially when you buy a platform worth 4000$, but hey, that`s life. Now I understand all the people that are being pissed off about all kinds of support flaws and slips Alienware made, but, I`m still going to be an m15x user, hardware is still prestene... Thanx for the support, and I`ll see you guys in future posts...

Kudos to Steve Lopez for the offer,

By the way, now I need an installation of AW`s Command Centre so I can access power & light options. Can I download it from AW`s site, or if not, where can I find it?
