Hey, I've searched around for a bit for a solution to this problem, but I haven't ben able to find a solution...

Well here's the problem, my laptop froze so I decided to pull out the battery and restart like I normally do when things like this happen... normally everything is fine, start windows normally everything is fixed, but this time my AlienFX just didn't turn on... no light pipe, no keyboard/touchpad/logo/whatever nothing works. I tried using the little alien head icon in the taskbar to enable AlienFX again except it the option to enable it does nothing...

I have tried restarting/system restore and neither works, any ideas on how to fix this???

EDIT: Nevermind, I found out the solution was to just turn off the laptop, not just restart it.

Hi Carrgo and welcome to the forum.
its not the best idea just to remove the battery to reset your computer unless you have no other option and it has totally frozen.
the safest way is the famous - control, alt, delete buttons and shut down or re boot in the task manager.

What I usually do when my laptop freezes is keep the power button pressed - that if you can't get to the task manager screen.
Hmm, it happened a few times with my M15X :(.

Yeah normally I use ctrl + alt + delete but my comp was completely frozen.. no response at all

I can never get it to turn off by holding down the power button... maybe it has something to do with it being touch control and all

no it's because a full shutdown actually turns off the BIOS. when you do restart the computer never fully turns off.

that said, I've had this issue before and if you haven't updated to the X32 bios then I would recommend it. I used to be able to replicate this issue all the time by performing certain battery/AC shutdown/startup combinations before X32, now, I haven't had the problem since.
