So I've had my m15x (old not All-Powerful version) for about a year and a half without issue, until my DVD drive started acting up. After a few hours on the phone with tech support and reinstalling windows I managed to convince them that the drive was broken and needed to be replaced.
While I was waiting for the replacement I took the opportunity to upgrade to win 7 (hooray for MSDN-AA).

Here's the problem that I'm having with the new drive:
I put a DVD in the drive, it works fine.
I go into sleep or hibernate, and the computer won't recognize the disk. It just spins until I reboot, won't even let me eject the drive.
If I put it into sleep/hibernate with no disk it does the same thing when I put one in.

I've done some testing with this and it only has a problem with DVD's (games or movies) but not with regular CD's.

Short of reinstalling windows again, the only thing I can think of that I haven't tried is updating the bios, but as far as I know the updates have nothing to do with the smart bay drive.

Hopefully someone here will be able to help me because another call with tech support will almost certainly result in reinstalling vista again before they'll do anything else.

    -Thanks
