Hello! After installing the m15x GPU BIOS update from the Alienware Hive I see what it does for “thermal improvement” and I’m really not happy.

With PowerMizer enabled the system will dynamically adjust the GPU clocks as it should. I just notice too many imperfections with this feature and prefer to turn it off.

Now with PowerMizer disabled the GPU clocks drop to 383/300 core/mem and they do not adjust no matter what you throw at it.

For example, with powermizer enabled I cannot get more then a 5000 3dmark06.

This was not the case prior to the BIOS update, I always had powermizer off.

    Anyone have anything for this?

    thanks!

powermizer cant be turned off in vista unless you decide to turn it off in the registry. the drivers control the clocks i think. i remembered 175.63 would downclock the 8800 when it was not needed and upped the clocks back when you did need it. the new 175.80 keeps the clocks on full and never lets it downclock.
