Thanks for the links everyone, feel free to drop a link if you think something else should be stickied.

Right now I am mainly focusing on reducing the number of m15x questions we are getting by putting useful information in an easy-to-find place. If the need arises, I will add the m17/m9750. Thanks for the suggestion.

For people who want to know what they are able to upgrade without voiding warranty, since it gets asked so much.
In a nutshell: RAM & hard drive are upgradeable without voiding warranty.
However, a statement by Alienware-James

Can you get rid of the "Why you shouldn't buy the M15x" thread because the list of issues covers that in a more appropriate manner in my opinion and it is more updated.

I have seen people struggling to find answer to this question again and again..

 

Don't know if this belongs here, in this thread... or even this forum.

Not that they're particularly experts, but it's nice to see, if just for the added circulation (AW is small in the UK), that the Sunday Times compared the Acer Aspire 8930, Dell XPS 1730, Toshiba Quosimo x300-11s, Asus G70s, and an m15x which they awarded best buy of the group, and gave the highest rating all things considered (Inc. Price). If I can figure out how to get a photo up here i'll upload the article (1 page).

Just thought people should know.
