I know there is a thread on this, but I was unable to find it. Has anyone heard anything regarding a keyboard lag fix? I remember someone was in direct contact with Roswell and they said they were working on the issue.

I hope they fix it soon. I am tired of typing a word then having to go back and fix it if I typed it too fast. -.-

Ack! This also makes me crazy.

So I downloaded the new touchpad drivers (as recommended) on Alienware support and that did not work. Then I uninstalled all touchpad drivers and that made me even more crazy because then the touchpad would not disable (but the keyboard was awesome - no more lag!). So I reinstalled the newest touchpad drivers and yay everything was working perfectly.

Then magically one month ago the keyboard started lagging again. Crap. I hate this. I don't want to have to go through all that everytime something gets updated and the keyboard starts lagging again.

One thing is for sure my problems all pointed to the touchpad driver.

So there's no way at all to have the touchpad driver uninstalled and be able to turn off the touchpad?

Hey guys I think I have a potential fix for this... I downloaded some older Synaptics drivers... specifically 9.0.1.5...(not sure where from, google should turn them up though)... and I'm think they might have been for an HP notebook or something, but this doesn't matter as the touchpads are the same... anyways I haven't had any problems since then, and have all the synaptics controls now for tapping and everything...

So i just decidd to type this post wit my m15x at my normal typing speed and you can notice a few issues with it such as leters missing or words that have double leters missing one.

Anyway back to a sped that the keyboard can handle.

I've tried changing several things like the default keyboard delay from vista's OS options. That seemed to help in a few programs but most it did not make a difference.

I've tried uninstalling the touchpad driver however that caused a different problem in it's own because I would constantly hit the touchpad with my thumb causing the mouse o not only select random things but go all over the screen. That was worse than keyboard lag.

I've tried finding a more up to date driver other than the driver provided in my hive with little success. Has Synapsis stopped supporting this or am I just having reading comprehension issues? :(

This has slowly become something I've been able to live with. It's gotten to the point where I can generally tone my WPM down to a level just below the threshold for where the lag begins. Still annoying though.

Have any other fixes at all come to light in the past few months?

I remember having that problem at one point. However, I found the thread on this board with a fix that involves tweaking one setting in the registry and another on the Synaptics driver. Unfortunately the only thing I remember is to set the the touchpad polling rate to slow, which makes the cursor slightly more jittery when you use it, but not too noticeably. It'll still be perfectly usable. The registry tweak then does something to the fillrate buffer to reduce the occurence of skipped letters. I don't type incredibly fast, but I am relatively quick, and that fix has reduced the incidence of skipped letters by a lot. In fact, I'm not even sure if it still happens or if it's just me making the mistakes.

Thank you very much. I'll try that out next time I'm on my laptop. Just got home and don't feel like pulling it out right now.
