Just got the m15x Thursday. Love it! Plays newer games very good - no overheating.
The issue I'm having is with old games like Serious Sam TFE and TSE. They have a severe stutter in the video and are too slow to play. Serious Sam 2 plays with no problem at all. Checked to see if Alienware had another set of video drivers for XP but they don't. Has anyone else experienced this?

try drivers from laptop2go

I thought any other drivers other than AlienWare's would disable Binary GFX. Is that not true?
-
I thought they have 2 separate drivers, 1 for integrated GFX, another one for 8800m gtx. I am not sure tho.

Using drivers other than AW's will permanently downclock your video card. BinaryGFX would still work fine, but your 88's performance would be cut in half (and nirvana you are right, when the 8800 is on the integrated graphics aren't even visible to the machine, and vice versa).

Yikes! Ok, so that option is off the table. Thanks for the info !

Have to run it in Windows 98 mode. Sweet! Working great now.

sorry, that's true, there is that one regular driver exiled mentioned which doesn't downclock the card, however its performance benefits are mixed if non-existent (didn't people get worse crysis performance?)

@Exiled - It isn't because the game requires less GPU power, it is that it requires more CPU power. For example, on any source game, I HAVE to crank the graphics up a lot or else my FPS will suffer. If I play on all low it dumps more stuff to my CPU which slows the game more. By turning up the graphics I help distribute some of the work to the GPU.
