    How well do they work together...

    9800 GT or 8800 preferred...

    GTA IV is heavily processor-dependent, so that's what you should be interested in :)

    GTA IV's scaling, doesn't work well with many GPUs... IMO the automatic scaling was a terrible idea... but probably was one of few that worked on the xbox (and they just carried it over).
