If or whenever it becomes availalbe, do you think the m15x will need any Bios or Video Bios update to run this GPU ??? 95% sure it will fit in there now, but want to see everyone's opinion on if the hardware will see it. God Bless :)

the video BIOS is on the GPU itself... as for the BIOS update, who cares? not exactly hard to do, and takes all of five minutes, if that.

Hmm, there's always a chance that one could just drop in and work (like the 3870 in the m9750), but it's also likely that Alienware would have to write in BIOS support.

There's also the issue of heatsink requirements and whether there exists enough room to facilitate the new hardware. I've seen the 280M heatsink, and it's a monster, so you should place your bets and hopes on the 260M's compatibility. The 280M is going to be too much for 15.4" notebooks.

yeah, i think we got it down that the only one that will fit out of the two is the 260.
but we still have yet to even get confirmation in any form. so technicially both are open still.

You think I can start another GPU/Wattage/Temperature in a 15.4" platform flame war! :)
