Received my m15x the other day, been playing around with it and was just wondering what other people are getting for the Windows Vista rating score to see if mine is working correctly and see how the different configurations score against each other.

    Intel T7700 @ 2.4Ghz
    4GB 800MHz Ram

    Processor: 5.3
    Memory(RAM): 4.8

People will most likely report different scores for similar or identical hardware simply because WEI is a terrible benchmark that only gives you a vague picture of performance.

WEI is a useless, vile, stinking, lying, pointless, annoying piece of trash and should be exterminated.

no personal thing. while the idea isn't bad, the execution of the idea was/is abysmal. the entire system doesn't work, isn't accurate or equal. it creates nothing but problems, frantic questions and pointless forum posts. ergo, we would be better off without it.

agreee'd very much :D ohhh no vista (the worst os ever) say's my ram is to slow :D well maybe its cause it ate it all up lol. ohh no my cpu is to slow, well maybe because MS paid them to put it on 1.2ghz celeron processors and then expect consumers not to complain?

Well the reason I ask is that you can see that on my x15x laptop it scores a 4.8 for the MEMORY. I know that this is using the PM965 chipset which is MAX 800MHz, but on one of my previous laptops that I had, which is an MSI GX600 which also uses the same PM965 chipset, the MEMORY scored around a 5.2-5.3. People may say that the WEI scoring is nothing, but I believe it should be good enough to see if there is something wrong with your equipment. For instance Isaw a chart somewhere that said that the Intel T7700's were scoring right where I am scoring so I know my CPU should be good. A few days ago I did a system recovery back to factory default and no matter how many time I did my WEI test, my CPU would score only a 3.8 !!!!! I knew this was wrong for a T7700 @2.4GHz, so I did some troubleshooting and found that in the Device Manager it was somehow seeing my CPU as a T7100 @ 1.8GHz, even though CPU-Z says that it was a correct T7700, so I uninstalled the Processor in Device Manager and had Windows reinstall it again and this time is saw it as the correct T7700 @ 2.4GHz and my WEI score for it went up to the current 5.3 :) WHat is everyone else getting for the WEI Memory score ?? Thanks again for any info. God Bless :)

so as you pointed out and have confirmed, the score is useless. if the program listed a 3.8 and you had to reinstall the proc in order for the unit to read correct, that shows the score did not actually score the proc based on parameters of performance but rather on what the pc thought was installed.
maybe you should recheck memory settings, re-seat it, or try other memory.

Actually what I *think* happened, is that Windows seemed to have installed the wrong drivers for the CPU and it saw it as a T7100 instead of a T7700, so it did not run at the full 2.4GHz, hence the lower processor WEI score. Once it installed the correct driver the CPU ran at full speed. So the WEI score is a good bench mark up to a point. Meaning an example that ALL Intel T7700 CPU's should have a WEI score of about 5.3, if there is a big difference from that, then either your CPU is not what it is, or something wrong with your CPU.

So what are people getting for the WEI Memory with their m15x ?? Just want to see if mine is within range of normal. Thanks again. God Bless :)

    since you're so insistent:

    CPU: 5.4
    RAM: 5.1
    GPU: 5.9
    GPU(G): 5.8
    HDD: 5.2

on a side note, CPUs need drivers?

Thanks whizzo for posting your scores. As for CPU drivers, I really do not know what to call it, if it is that. I know that in other laptops that I have switched out the stock CPU for another one, on the next boot up to windows, I usually see Windows has detected..... on the bottom right so I am assuming it detected my new CPU and is installing something like drivers, etc. Hope this helps. Maybe someone more knowledgeable than me can answer that question. God Bless :)
