I was thinking about get a set of three external monitors for when i'm not at uni and i was just wondering would the m15x be able to handle games across 3 screens i'm new to using external monitors and would like some info on this
thanks

three? wth? why? (aside from the why not rebuttal)...
just on a hunch, i doubt a single card could handle 3 anyway....aside from only having one output from it. (laptop)
even most desktop cards from what i have seen max out at two outputs (for each card). though i have seen a very limited number with three. -
Matrox Triple Head to go Search It up

nice....
but can the 512 unit handle it? it says on the site you can use the product, but it does not have real life scenerios. just simple q&a.
however, if the OP goes ahead with this, i would be interested in knowing how it works for him with games. -
just wondering if its possable as i would like more screen space while i'm at home to watch films and games and stuff u can get quad set ups and even 5 screen setups the matrox graphics extender looks good just dont no if i have the money right now to buy the extender and 3 screens just wanted to no if it was possable or if only extreme sli cards could do it.

Something to keep in mind:
The maximum possible digital screen resolution of the 8600/8700/8800M GT/X is 2560x1600.
So no matter what the configuration of external screens, they have to fit into that box. -
acording to the matrox web site it says that the maximum resloution of the 8800m gtx is 3840x1200 for 2D apps and 3840x1024 for 3d apps there is a link below
http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/support/compatibility/gxm/
just run through the configuration wizard -
its (3x 1280x1024) with the triple head and (2x 1920x1200) with the dual head

i read that as well...but that just specifies an ability...there is no supporting reviews or references for reviews to inform a potential buyer of the gaming use of the product.
thus refer to post 4. -
well i've worked out if i wont to try this that it will cost me £750 and right now i cant afford that so it may be a while before i try but if i do i will post my results here

It doesn't get much clearer than hearing it from the horse's mouth...
and I don't think nVidia is wrong about something they manufactured. -
again...a capability, not a real life use such as gaming as to what the OP was asking.
honest, i think it could work for internet and outlook, and maybe less graphic intensive apps, but i think it would be hard pressed to work well for games.
maybe a desktop sli or xfire could do it, but a single 8800 gtx in the m15x....not sure about that. -
Gaming, not so much.... unless you were playing quake or something.
Edit: and by Quake I mean the FIRST one.
