As you already may know i have the following issues with the m15x:
chipping paint
random scratches on the inside of the laptop
gap above the ethernet port the laptop casing looks likes it coming up
touch buttons wont work after sleep mode, laptop wont go into sleep mode when lid is closed . i actually have to do hard shutdown because the screen goes black and the laptop is unable after i open it again.(yes i have service pack 1 and have the option "go to sleep when i close lid" on.)
i also hate the lid noise, and i think it might break off like so many people's soon. Normally I would not call in for repairs but with all theese issues and the one i got today I think i will... will they send me a replacement m15x? if so since this is the 2nd i have had to mail it in can i recive any bonuses or maybe get a new system/m17x and/or skullcap? actually can i get a refund? or do i have to wait till strike 3(which im almost sure will happen)
alright here goes:

i would not care if this was happening on the keyboard but the alienware logo is one of my favorite things about the laptop and now its ruined... if you cant see it the black is inside the lighting of the "W" it looks much worse in person... im very dissapointed but i cant say im suprised![]()

Unless you got a lemon, chipping paint and random scratches don't sound like AW's fault. I could've sworn I saw a fix for your touch button problem... did you update to v41 I think it was? And did anyone ever have their lid actually break off? Everyone says something like that but I thought the only issue in the display area was the hinge breaking issue. I don't think I've seen anyone get their actual lid broken, much less that being AW's fault over their own. Also, can you take a picture of the gap? And it is hard to see the black in the logo, is there proof that it's AW's fault though?

ahhh yea? how the heck could it have happend? its inside the acutal computer light piping. its not possible for me to have done that. so i find the fact that you think i have to prove its alienware fault, invalid. the scrathces represent the low quality of the chasis. The fact that its happening inside the actual laptop as oppsesed to the outside makes me think... how could i have even caused that? you have not even addressed the other problems, and honestly i forgot what bios im in... but im not sure if thats the answer to that problem. the hinge breaking issue is what im refering too.

Didn't the new bios fix the unresponsive touch buttons? Mine is working perfectly fine. Maybe the black thing inside the AW logo came in from above where there is a gap between the LCD and the frame.
Could try vacuuming it out? -
Okay, first of all no need to get so defensive but if you're going to be why not post pics of those problems too? And how did I not address your other problems? Try reading my post. v41 is a multimedia board BIOS update that assists, if not fixes, touch pad unresponsiveness.

You probably just got unlucky. I have absolutely no problems with my system except that it fries anything you put in the express card slot.
You could send your unit in one more time to upgrade to the skullcap. My m15x's screen is quite rigid, does not wobble much, and doesn't make any creaking noises. This might be due to the skullcap, or simply because I ordered mine from the UK.
For the problem you're having with the sleep mode, try disabling Intel's turbo memory (robson) module if you have it. Mine had that problem before, and sometimes it won't recover after going to sleep. After disabling it, I have no problem whatsoever.
Hope this helps
m15x another issue for me...should i send it in?
