Well its here, and i just opened it up. Ill get pictures and write up a review in the future. All i can say so far is there are no glaring problems at all. I dont seem to have any keyboard response problems, no flex like etiolicous, and nothing wrong with the side of the screens. SO FAR, it seems perfect. I will be updating to the newest drivers and such over the next day or so and then i will monitor and report on temps and the like. Also, i got skullcap and im glad i did. The skullcap is very sleek on the lid unlike older aw versions and the pics i have seen of it are very misleading. Skullcap ads about 3mm max height to the laptop. Its almost nothing and it looks great. More to come

    Hi,
It seems as though the same repetitive questions pop up over and over and over and over. Screen wobble is normal and found in most laptops (amount of wobble depends on who designed the hinges and their stress tolerance). If it were stiffer, it would probably crack the plastics (and has most likely been adjusted as such). Keyboard flex is present in every single laptop I own (just in different locations). LCD flex is very normal (go to your local best buy and see how many screens you can flex). Creaking hinges are fairly normal (the creaking wears down over use). Also, cracking is very common is most laptop models (I've replaced thousands of plastics on Dell laptops as a result of cracking).

my m15x has very little screen wobble. Id say its about normal for a laptop but in NO way is it alarming at all. Also, there is NO creaking whatsoever when i open or close it and the touch controls work excellent. It came with the x32 bios preinstalled. I just need to install the new drivers

also, there is almost no keyboard flex at all. The keyboard is very stable. i dont hit the keys very hard when i type but pushing down the only place that the keyboard goes down at all is by the arrow keys but i never hit the keys hard enough even while gaming to make it depress. The rest of the keyboard feels awsome and there is no lag.

The only gripe i have at all is that you have to hit the mousepad buttoms pretty hard to click. Im going to be using a mouse so it wont even matter and you can always tap the touchpad. The touch buttons all work perfectly tho

Are you certain there is no lag? Try typing the phrase "good to go" over and over again in a chat program and see how many times you come up with god instead of good. :p

Just use "g2g", but the only problem with that is it's often mistaken for "got to go".

This is just plain wrong, I have had several laptops from Sony and IBM, no key flex or screen wobble so I guess it depends on the make and expectations you have. If you got the AW you would probably be happy with it in this condition- me I would tear them a new one.

I have exactly the same opinion as Maceto. I have seen "hundreds" of different laptops. At work everyone has a laptop... I've went to several, "shacked" them and NONE whatsoever would wobble like the M15x lids does. So no... this is not something all the laptops have. I completely disagree with this statement. Just look at all the videos around... The M15x wobbles and more than all the laptops I've ever came across (and I did came across a significant ammount of them).

Appart from that... the creacking is something that I don't see as a problem, as the keyboard flex is something that is not really annoying. The wobble though... that's unnaceptable. Just think what will happen when you are on the move, on planes, on cars, etc etc etc...

Now, what would be important to know is whether they fixed the security lock and, most important even, if they did anything regarding improving the very bad cooling system they have implemented.

i dont know what you guys define at wobble. Every laptop screen can move back and forth if you shake it. When sitting still, the screen does not move at all. If i flick the corner of the screen the screen shakes very slightly. If i shake my desk back and forth th screen also moves slightly, but i can say that it does not move nearly as much as in the cnet review video where you can clearly see it wobbling like crazy.

The wobble doesnt bother me. Also, there really isnt any lag at all the keyboard. i tested it and i cannot get it to skip letters. sry guys... ;)

unforunatly i cant test the lock slot yet because i dont have a lock. I dont want to buy one that doesnt work but i guess ill try the targus defcon cl. Has anyone ever called up aw and said, "my lock doesnt fit, what one does?" i think it would be funny to get a reply.

I did... They say the Defcon CL works... lots of people say it doesn't. So I don't know what to think.

When I sent mine back I said explicitly and underlined... I need a functional security lock as I am obliged to use it at work. So let's see what they do...

I never experienced keyboard lag or whatever. I always use an external mouse anyway, as I really dislike touchpads. Only use them when there's not an option. They keyboard is really a good thing about the M15x. It does have the slight flex close to the arrow keys, but that really doesn't take my sleep away.

Regarding the wobble... the M15x I first received had quite a big wobbliness. It would wobble if I was writing fast. If I had the webcam on and I was typing on the laptop, you could really notice the video "shacking". I never ever, in my long life, came across something like this.

I have a macbook pro and the screen does not wobble AT ALL. Its rock solid and I dont feel any flex on the keyboard either, THAT should be normal.

I had a sony vaio before and again the screen did not creak or wobble either.

Line, as far as the touchpad click being very stiff, mine was very stiff at first too. But it did become softer over a few days, and it's fine now.

but then we are talking quality laptops in most cases, some lemons there as well- but it's not a Dell or a cheap HP... ( the less expensive Dells and Hp's haev some wobble and flex, but not all!)

look at business laptops- try to pass the AW by a laptop governance group- they will love it, but laugh at the wobble and flex.

Yeah but we are talking about AW, they are supposed to be the more high-end offerings and its perfectly normal to compare them with similarly priced laptops like the Apple or Sony stuff which tends to be slightly more expensive then the average dell.
