Hey, so my m15x arrived and i will post a review but don't have time right now/need to test computer more before i can do one. So these are my first thoughts:

Lid creaking is still there, woobling is also there.

When opening the lid, if you use the "middle top" of the screen with one hand the screen feels flimsy and weak. When i open it i use two hand and just grab the corners...i may be a bit paranoid after 3 users hinges snapping but i can see how it can happen and it makes me a bit worried.

I believe the customs kept opening my box, cause it was dust and general small garbage (dirt i guess is the word?) inside the box when i opened it.

There are some minor scratches on the paintjob of the chassis.

So far my feelings are mixed, for perfection there are issues that AW or DHL (delivery company) should have taken care of.

So, started up the computer everything seems fine, but VISTA is acting weird...could have been cause i only had 1gb ram because when i changed it to 4gb it started to work fine.

Touch controls where unresponsive in the beginning, but started working after like 5 minutes. The volume control is still working weirdly, the light on the chassis doesnt show how loud the volume is, it just indicates it is at full blast all the time while the on screen volume says it is very low. It is also "laggy" as when i move my finger to change volume the volume control lights turns off, then on, then off...this means that it is very hard to change volume with the volume controller.

Called up CS support regarding the volume controller, they said they would send me a update for the touch controls. Haven't got it yet, so guess i gotta remind them. Couldn't find it on my myhive.

Temperatures are alright, nothing to brag about at least. In the beginning i was worried as the GPU at 70-80 and then CPU went up to 70 degrees when just surfing. Restarted computer and CPU temps came up as 36 degrees so no really sure what is going on there. BTW, if anyone knows, what vent is for CPU and GPU on the back? (right/left vent)

During gaming (WoW not that demanding i know) the temps actually went down to hover around 71-75 GPU and CPU was around 45-50. Got very good frame rates as was expected.

The touchpad is HORRIBLE, but with the including plastic sheets it is alright, i tried briefly integrated video card before work and the touchpad started to behave weirdly. It stopped responding and then it started to work again and then stopped etc, not sure if this is true cause i was literally running through the door when this happened. Will updated you more later.

These are ofcourse a summary of all the negative aspects of my experience, i am a bit concerned about my m15x, but at the same time i love it. We will see how these problems manifest and what is done about them.

Review with pictures will come up in the next few weeks, getting crysis, assassin's creed and bioshock to try out GPU temps too.

I am writing this thread and doing a review cause I think it is fair for other people to see my experience (because I enjoyed reading about other people experiences). That means showing both sides of the coin, I will not write a review that only portraits the negative nor only the positive side of my m15x. I will try and stay objective so that people reading are only met by facts and can make up their own minds. (cause that is what i expect from a good review, of which i have read many on this forum.)

Please respect that and refrain from smart ass comments.

As far as the volume light on the chassis always appearing to be full blast, mine is like that too. I think that light is supposed to be always fully lit.

Hope you can sort out those other issues and enjoy your laptop.

I am not sure about that, would be nice someone clarifying this but from what i saw on Livre's video review it changes depending on the volume of the computer. i may be wrong though...

Another question, does anyone know if the GPU and CPU share exhaust vent, and if not is the GPU on the right or left side?

The light does not change on the touch button. It will only light up when you touch it and that's all.
More... The CPU exhaust is on the left. The GPU is on the right.
    Good luck with your laptop.

milcs is right if you are looking at the keyboard the cpu is on the left and the gpu is on the right. I have always hated the volume slider and i've alway though AW should have included a key combination to lower the volume like FN+ whatever anyways they didn't so what I just made my page up and page down my volume keys and just gave up on the slider. On a better note congrats on getting your system.

Thanks for all responses! Ok that makes sense then, then maybe i just got bad fingers or the software/responsivness is off.

Thanks milcs for clarifying the GPU/CPU and touch control problems!

It was just a quick one, she may have removed it but it was basically just to show reponsiveness of her touchcontrols i think.
