I was installing newest the bios for the m15x. Before i started the directions told to the keep the power adapter pluged in and to close the lid. So i did when i came back i opened the lid and i couldnt see anthing and i couldnt turn off my computer so i unplugged the battery to turn it off.

now i cant turn my computer on, the power button wont work.

now that i look back it must have said to not close the lid because i never remember doing that before.

so my question is, do i need to send this into alienware to get it fixed or can i do it myself?
is there some way to turn my computer on without that power button?

    Thanks
and if an alienware rep knows please let me know

Chances are that you completely bricked the machine, you might have to send it in. There might be some kind of emergency mode for BIOS flashing, but you'll have to ask other AW forum members about it.

Not sure but you might try removing the adapter and the battery, press the power button for 10-15 secs, put in the battery again and plug in the adapter.

you should remove the bodom pannel (like when your changing ram and stuff)
and next to the battery there is a smal metal button that should start your pc again
I had to restart it 1 time for the screen 2 or 3 times before my dvd player worked
    goodluck :)

Are there some photo's on this site of the m15x open that show the button. It would be good to know it's location.

can you speak english? I see jibberish. not that you're not trying to be helpful, but "bodom"... really? and that's just one example.

anyways, the best way to fix these things is to do what was already mentioned, but with one minor variance... take out the battery, and d/c the a/c and press the power button to help discharge the entire unit, then connect the A/C but LEAVE THE BATTERY OUT, and try to start up the system.

if that doesn't work, before putting the battery in, try powering-on the system using the right-click method... hold the right click of the touchpad for 5-10 seconds and the system should start up using integrated graphics.

after the system is on, you can replace the battery. good luck.

Mystik is right. It's allot easier to help people with a problem is they describe it in understandable terms.
