    i was on youtube an this guy says that the m15x can run 800MHz ram even though its not montevina by doing a bios update. is that true??????? here's the link for the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiTHz1sx7gE

    wait till he talks about the new ram he bought and look at the comments

    Clearly he doesn't know that much about computers...
    And I guess we have a good marketing strategy there: GAMING MEMORY! And everyone goes for it... Just because it sounds cool!!!

    In any case, the m15x can run DDR2 800MHz, but it will downclock to 667MHz... which means that... your laptop will run at the exactly same speed.
    But at least you can brag about on youtube, saying you have GAMING TURBO MEMORY EXTRA POWER! Or something like that... :D

    As noted, that's 100% false. The motherboard and memory controller do not support 800MHz FSB/RAM.

    There is a minimal performance gain going from the Santa Rosa to the Montevina platform . . . an unnoticeable difference. So, enjoy your notebook and don't worry about the new tech.

    by gaming memory do you mean that cas latecy 4 stuff. you wont notice a difference using that either.

    also i would not risk flashing my bios to something aw didnt release
