I remember there were cases of crackings and bulges on the m15x chassis, today i just went back on alienware website because im bored and this is what i see...

a rigid magnesium alloy frame.... i don't remember this on the m15x page, i thought it's on the m9750 only...while m15x is plastic... can anyone confirm this? is it always magnesium alloy? or is there some changes...

    My thoughts on the subject:
Maybe they mean the 'skeleton' of the notebook is magnesium alloy which would mean the 'skin' is plastic (or whatever material they're covering it with). So that can't be construed as false advertising and no recent m15x owners have reported receiving a new 'magnesium alloy' chassis..

I concur. Many business class notebooks have an internal metal frame, which is what adds to durability and makes the chassis more rigid.

I saw that description a few months ago on the site (apart from the skullcap mention)... but that stuff about the "all-new Ripley design" was on there a few months ago.
