hey guys, i'd been looking for a cooling solution for my 15x, and this week i tried the xpad... its a passive cooler, nothing more than a slab of plastic with some raised surfaces on the corners, but it gets the job done...
so anyone looking for a cooler, do give the xpad a thought
heres my temp differences at idle(stealth mode off):
without xpad:
VGA: 71
CPU: 59
with xpad:
VGA: 65
CPU: 46
now, while running crysis:
without xpad:
VGA: 87
CPU: 63
with xpad:
VGA: 83
CPU: 58
not too shabby, for a light-weight-no-power-required cooler ....

Haha still playing with legos whizzo? Na just kidding with you. And they are still fun when My nephew is around.
My Nexus laptop cooler work well. Passive cooling. Heat pipping. Really dont work on my M17X. But the airflow on the top not the bottem. Like the M5550 and M15X.
When I had my M5550 which I miss. It cool the laptop pritty good.

Did you get as far as making a more permanent solution... maybe wood or plastic isntead of the lego... Not that i'm saying it doesn't work, just curious...

haven't tried any of that yet, no. i've got a zalman nc2000 here now, temps are nice too, only GPU temps aren't down at all

OB -
no, cuz i heard some were having issues with the control panel not showing up anymore... so i'm still on .83 i think...
