    m15x display problem

    My m15x display suddenly went out, i rebooted booting to os is fine but the screen is black. Is it a video card problem?
    what happens to the computer if your laptop video card is bad?

    Could be the video card, see if you can boot using the integrated graphics and not the GPU and see if the video comes up. If it does, then more than likely your GPU is bad, if it still does not come up then it could be something else like a loose connection, etc. I hope this helps. God Bless :)

    How do you boot to the integrated video card im going to try to hook up to an external monitor to see if it works....

    Is the screen ON and just black (or blank), or is the screen really OFF?

    When the GPU went out in my HP laptop, I would get a black screen with colored lines scattered about. When I would boot I could hear windows load and I was able to sign in with my fingerprint reader, but just couldn't see anything. It was the graphics card that went out. Booting to an external monitor yielded similar results, and was key to determining a bad GPU as oppposed to a bad LCD.

    Okay turn the laptop off, and then boot it up by holding the right trackpad button in. This will boot it into the intergrated.

    i booted into the integrated graphics card my monitor is showing display. Ok this affirms me that my 8800m gtx inside m15x is faulty and not working right?

    any advice? or confirmation that i am right about my 8800m gtx card?
