Hey guys, sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find anything on it. When the power cuts in my university hostel, my m15x is immediately underclocked to stealth mode settings. 0.9v, 8.0x multiplier, and the GPU is downclocked too. When I check the power setting though, it's still in high performance. I don't know how to stop it from doing this during power cuts, and since it's quite common where I am, it leads to stuttering gameplay and that quite annoys me.

Any help at all would be much appreciated.

that's normal, the performance settings drop when you switch to battery (which is essentially what happens when the AC power cuts out). check the Fusion tab in your Command Center to see if there are any specific settings for performance on battery power.

I've actually already changed that, I've changed the performance to full. But the downclocking is still happening.

I've asked Alienware tech support on what to do, all they did was tell me to go to Control Panel and tweak the power settings. Great help that was.

Like the other poster said, all laptops downclock when on battery. It's because battery technology hasn't progressed as fast as the other parts of our modern day notebooks, and no feasibly sized battery would be able to supply the wattage to run it on the fastest settings. It sucks, I know.

In other words, the automatic downclock is unavoidable? Damn. Thanks anyhow.
