I just got my m15x this week. pretty much the standard config except with 4 gigs of ram and a 260m graphics card.

I notice that even playing world of warcraft, after ive played about 20 minutes my fans start getting louder and louder until my laptop is pretty noisy... i checked out the temps in realtemp, and the cors are at about 60C and the GPU is at 59-60. I wouldnt think the fans should be blazing this much with the temps in that range. What are others experiences? Any settings I need to change?

    Thanks.

    A little bit more information.

I tried applying jokers fixes from the throttling investigation, and that fixed the throttling. With Prime95 and Furmark going my laptop sounds like a wind tunnel experiment. but GPU temps are about 68C and CPUs are around 73C. I'd say the fans are on max if I had to judge. This is what it sounds like after maybe 45 minutes of gaming on World of Warcraft.

The Fan's will crank up when Gaming and knowing thats to keep Temps down low and clocks up I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather have those fans spinning fast and keeping the CPU and GPU temps that low.

Remember, the lower those temps are kept, the longer your system is likely to last.

There's a lot of power and it needs a lot of cooling which produces a lot of noise, it's that simple. Just get a nice pair of headphones and you won't notice it at all.

Seriously...is your caps lock key stuck on permenantly? Or do you just feel compelled to capitalize the start of every single word?
