So I was thinking about getting one of the harddrive cages for the m15x from AW. Anyone know how much this would cost me. And what I would be looking at for say a 250gig or 500gig drive to go in the cage.
ps: what kind of hdds will work with the cage?
(yeah its been awhile I know)

You mean the smart bay? They are about $20 in the US I think.
-
yeah a smart bay cage. I knew the cage was cheep but I didn't know about the actual drives.
-
i think the drive would be a SATA 2.5" model.
-
So there's a chance that the smartbay will fit a 3.5" HDD?
Wow, kewl... -
no, there isn't. because i clearly wrote 2.5". i guess you need your eyes checked.
-
You said "I think it wil use 2.5" HDD"
So, i was joking that with that word, you aren't sure with your answer, and that means there is a chance for 3.5".
Anyway, it was a joke -
of course. i must've missed the joke then
-
Right well if you 2 are quite finished
. That means ANY 2.5 SATA model?
Such as this -
yea that will fit I also got one of those
there are 10.000 rpm raptor disks of 2.5 inch but i dont know if that will work (power and heat)
other than the raptor all 2.5inch sata disk will work -
you got one? how do you like it? I hear good things
-
I like it it is quiet and it doesnt let the laptop shake like the cd rom drive does.
And it is fast not ssd fast but still fast i would definitely recommend it -
anyone willing to get a battery for me, the bay one?? I will shoot you the funds.
-
-
any other models we should be aware of?
-
I don't know what kind of budget you have but this one is great:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148374
got it a couple months ago, and its got great capacity and is really quick. max transfer rate of a little less than 100mb/sec and an average of around 75mb/sec in hdtune. would definetly recommend it.
