I finally had a chance to send my m15x in for repair. I sent it around 8/5 and just got it back today, so not too bad of a wait. I received an email last night about 6pm saying it had been shipped. To my surprise it was already at my door when I woke up around 10am!

Over all it is much much more solid. It no longer feels like a cheap pos when opening and closing. The light pipe does seem much thinner then I remember, so they must have changed something on the inside.

However they didn't put the little rubber caps over the screw holes for some reason. And I believe they updated the bios because the fans are on full blast constantly.

If your procrastinating getting this done... just do it you will be much happier when it come back.

If you have purchased your m15x prior to November, then it's highly likely that they've updated the BIOS to version x36. Unlike x34 or x32, the fan speed profiles have been changed a little to help prevent physical damage associated with the heat produced by your notebook.

It will also help to know that the temperature readings may be bugged a little too-- so don't freak out when you find out that your ACPI temp is at 80C, because it is most likely not the correct temperature reading.
