    Hi!

I noticed pressure marks on the left side of the display of my m15x.
So I wondered how it could be, because the case of the display seems to be stable enough.
So I took a better look on the machine and noticed the the keyboard on the left side is about 2mm higher than the chassis. Perfectly matching the marks on the display...

Is there anybody else with similar problems?

how long you had it? the keyboard issue looks like 1 key, which has poped out and someones pushed it back, and the pressure marks? bit hard to tell from the picture

i have the notebook for some months now, but the display issue came really fast, maybe one month after buying it, it took a while to realize that it must be because of the keyboard.

no key has ever popped out and all keys on the right side are too high, not only one. its just a little steep from left to right.
if i'd put lets say a cd on the right side it would lay on the chassis, but on the right side it would lay on the keys.

yeah the pressure mark is hard to see, if you ever had one you know how it looks like. its some region that looks too bright or too dark compared to its surroundings.

Reseat the keyboard, and check for anything that might be underneath it.

If it's the keyboard itself, contact AW and try to get a replacement sent out.

hmm i could do it, but the display issue remains, so i think i'll have to send it in.
don't think they'll send me a spare panel, though i have experience in changing laptop panels (did it with my last notebook)

    update:
yesterday i noticed some noise as i took the notebook from the bag, so i thought there might be something loose in it.

i removed the back cover and moved the notebook a little and noticed that there is something in the cpu fan, so i removed the fan cover and...oh my god??
there was a loose screw in the fan housing!!!

after some investigation i found out that it was this one:
    from the keyboard.

this would explain the keyboard problem.

    two questions still remain:
how crappy must the quality control be, that a loose screw is not noticed during the assembly?
    and
how lucky am I that the screw didn't short circuit the battery and made the notebook explode...

i dont think they check every screw in AW  . its most likely due to some crappy builder that was building your laptop. the person must really suck at his job if he cant even tighten a screw

but yea AW is not known for their quaility control although they do boast their 200 check thing quite a bit.

and i dont think a loose screw will blow up the comp >>

I'm sure that the screw was never tightened at all because it's covered by fan housing and cable, so it can't just unscrew itself and fall out. I'm curious where the screw was, because I hadn't heard any noise before yesterday.

ok, blowing up the comp is a worst case scenario :D
i suppose that that batteries are internally short-circuit-protected, but if they aren't, it would at least cause a fire.
have you ever tried to short circuit a normal small battery
and a notebook battery has far more energy inside

however i will call AW europe tomorrow on this case and I'm really curious that they'll say
