    Hi everyone,

Now that the 1499 $ config is up, the best way to save money is to upgrade only the GPU and the CPU, and buy the RAM and the HDD from somewhere else. Which hard disk should I buy? I looked at the Hitachi Travelstar 7k200 16mb 200GB or the Seagate Momentus 7200.2. I don't know which one is better and which one is cheaper. I live in Canada and I know sites like Tigerdirect.ca or pcvonline.com...
For the RAM I know which brands are good, but I don't know what specs to look for. Is 667 MHz okay? And what do I have to do to have Dual Channel. Is it possible if I take the 1GB from Alienware, take off one 512MB and add 2GB?

    Thank you.

    1. Newegg.com to buy your parts
    2. For the HD's check the reviews on newegg.
    3. Ask other M15x users here what kind of ram. You can take off one 512mb and add a 2GB though. You do not have to run dual channel.

    Okay
and why the Travelstar? It is more expensive than going with the AW 200GB upgrade directly..

go with the travelstar and for ram you can go with Corsair or Patriot, I have good experience witi both. By far is going to be cheaper than getting it form AW.
