Poll your m15x experience for others to see. We want to know if you are having issues- or none at all. Please state your build below after you vote, and why (i.e., "! x9000/8800mgtx... and it's perfect!").

your keyboard, Mystik? not even the slightest movement around the arrow keys? and you're quite sure your lid doesn't creek or wobble? and i suppose your touch controls work every time in every situation? :)

touch controls are fine. the lid creeking never bothered me (just sounds like plastic pushing against itself to me), and the keyboard flex I've never noticed... so yeah, I'm pretty sure that to me, it's perfect.

how come in the poll you can select both [i have no issue] and [i have lots of problem] at the same time?

i think you need something like this.

    [ ] no issue
    [ ] overheating
    [ ] cracking
    [ ] melting
    [ ] other

    just a suggestion :)

Well... EVERYONE has issues! Not everyone will care/notice. The same goes for pretty much every other laptop (obviously the M15x has more than the vast majority... but well...).

By the way, I hate AW and the M15x! :) But I love all of you.

0 issues 8800m GTX /w 2.5 C2D. I'm running XP pro. with latest BIOS and certified AW drivers i'm finding it very hard to get the GPU past 85C and no higher then 90C. with the latest BIOS at 85C the GPU fan goes into overdrive. It's actually a bit extreme, its LOUD, sounds like the Xbox360 starting up. it quickly drops the temps as low as 75C, then the fans throttles back.

I've run Crysis benchmarks with multiple loops and all the way up to 8x AA and have the same results, gets to 85C, fans go nuts, stays around 80'ish most of the time. it never downclocks the GPU, with powermizer or with the reg hack to disable powermizer. the latest BIOS does however make turning off powermizer useless. its sets the GPU to level 2 (balanced) full time, which is 300/500 and does not dynamically adjust. use powermizer or hack the registry for full time 500/800 GPU clocks.

I will say this, dont load the XP beta drivers, the GPU stays downclock full time and does not adjust. not sure whats going on with that one. Even after the reg hack the GPU stays 275/500 no matter what I do….

CPU is fine, but I don’t have the x9000. You can fix the CPU downclocking thing on battery with RMClock.

No cracking or faulty case on mine. I did hold out and get the skull cap, not sure if they made any significant case mods for it, but I doubt it.

The only complaint I have, which (for some reason) many others don’t, is the GPU downclocking on battery…

I’ve explained how to fix it here but no one around here is familiar with Nvidia API, and either am I… Bringing up API functions to AW support is a joke... so dont even bother.
