That's a nice framerate. Are you playing in DX9 or DX10? DX9 will be noticeably smoother with no discernible difference in visuals.

Woops, forgot to mention it was at DX9. However, with the 55 drivers and the previous patch, I wasn't approaching anything near 25fps average (maybe like 20 at most) in DX9 at 1440. So there is some improvement now.

I'm thinking that it is the patch Shima. Maybe drivers aren't the main reason.

Btw, are you still getting DC in game?

Could be the patch...maybe someone else can test the 59 drivers and give it a go? 167.59 drivers won't downclock the GPU.

I've found I downclock when I'm not using it on my NC1000 cooler. If I don't use it with a cooler, I downclock.

    Nice pics Shima +1

The m15x looks so cool compared to the thinkpad. Btw, what's that whole in front of the touch pad for?

would you recommend the 1920x1200 resolution or is that too high for a 15"

    oh no! haha :D

@roadrunner - it depends on what you are using this notebook primarily for. If you are just gaming and typing, like me, the lower res is fine.

If you are into design and editing videos or pictures, then you might need the extra res & desktop space.

Believe me, I've had the higher res 1920x1200 on my previous m5550 and it really isn't needed for basic tasks.

I agree. the 1440 res is perfect for my use - web browsing, documents, limited Photoshop and of course, gaming. If you're into web design, videos in 1080p, heavy Photoshop, etc then the 1920 might be for you.

This one is not only a good pic to show off the looks of the m15x, but I *think* it's also a good comparison of the reflectiveness of a matte screen vs. a glossy screen :)

    +rep Shima !!

very nice pic. also shows how shiny the bezel is. i guess the all black m15x will be similar if not worse. does it show fingerprints well? i bet it does...

actually since its silver you cant notice the fingerprints. it hides finger prints very well. just try not to touch the black glossy part of the screen that much.

The glossiness of the screen could be good to see who's behind you..
