So I really want to upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 in October for my Alienware m15x. Which version would be better for me? I mostly only play WOW, watch videos and dvds/listen to music. Thats about the extent of my Entertainment. I saw on the site it says get professional if your planning on running windows XP programs, not sure what exactly i use if anything is just for XP. Anyways, what would be better for me?

I think its mainly preference, check this page out though

    Windows 7 version comparison

I would probably recommend Professional, the windows xp feature should prove to be useful; VERY useful if you have certain business programs that will most probably not be compatible with Windows 7.

Heres a link explaining more on the XP feature: Linky

To run 64-bit, you need to have a 64-bit capable processor. If you're unsure about that, do this:

    1. Open Performance Information and Tools Click Start, go to Control Panel, select System and Maintenance, and then Performance Information and Tools.

    2. Click View and print details.

    3. In the System section, you can see what type of operating system you're currently running under System type, and, under 64-bit capable, whether you can run a 64-bit version of Windows. (If your computer is already running a 64-bit version of Windows, you won't see the 64-bit capable listing.)

    to the OP:

    look in the m15x sticky.
there are also several threads that findvikas made regarding win7 and such.
the m15x can and will handle 64bit.

IF you are not going to play any graphic intensive games then
the 8600 graphics card is good enough.

Its kind of hard to tell for sure, but It "seems" to me that you can add the Windows XP Compatibility later Check this link: Linky Which means you don't need to get Professional with the extra features that you may not need, and instead get Home Premium and just add the XP Compatibility.
