    Hi everyone,

sorry if this has been covered, but I have downloaded windows 7 professional from msdn and did a clean install of it on my laptop. I was wondering what I should do after completing a clean install? I have tried downloading drivers, but I can't get the OSD utility to work and from integrated to discrete or vice versa. I understand that windows 7 hasn't been released and the drivers haven't been updated yet for windows 7, but is there a work around? Anybody have a step by step of how to get windows 7 working with all of the alienware stuff? Thanks all!

You do have to install the drivers in a specific sequence. Take a look at this thread for all the required drivers, and the sequence of installation.

Though Command Center is still buggy with Win 7. More specifically AlienFusion taking up lots of RAM

I am wondering if AW is going to give support for the older m15x and win 7 drivers seeing how they no longer sell the old m15x.

When you bought yours, did it come with a free upgrade to Windows 7?

Ok, so according to Alienware, any system that is available for purchase with the Windows 7 upgrade will have support for windows 7.

According to the US Alienware site, you can still purchase Recertified M17's and Refurbished Area-51 m15x's with an upgrade to Windows 7.

What that says to me is that they will provide Windows 7 support and drivers for both of those systems, but anything older then that I believe you're SoL unless it "just works" with the Win 7 standard drivers.
