    I found a way to guarantee that touch controls work after waking from sleep. All you have to do is while the computer wakes up, quickly touch the volume slider before your computer fully wakes up and the touch controls work for the rest of the time! Hope this helps :)

    makes sense... by touching the volume slider, you discharge it from static electricity (which as been proven to be the cause of this).
