I attempted to search on this but didn't find anything, so, has anyone else here had any problems with the HDMI connection and a Sony TV? The VGA works fine, but when I connect the HDMI cable the TV says there is no signal. The m17 seems to recognize the TV, but the TV doesn't display anything. I have tried rebooting, powering them on one at a time, the TV first, or the m17 first, doesn't matter. I have tried the Alienware drivers, and the ATi 9.5, no luck either way. Any thoughts?

This may be a little obvious but did you verify you were on the correct input on the TV?

Have you tryed rebooting during the TV is connected via HDMI?

I solved the same problem for me some time ago but not with the m17 ...

If you're on the correct input on your TV, and the laptop and the TV are connected via HDMI cable, try hitting FN+F3. If you still don't see anything, RE-verify the first two, and start looking at possible driver issues. You can access outputs through the ATI CCC too. I've never had any issues with this.

    Yes, no doubt about it.

    Tried it, didn't work.

Tried this also, no luck. My m9700 worked fine with an HDMI to DVI cable on the same port, so there should be nothing wrong with the TV. Looks like a driver issue or Sony and ATI just don't like each other. I hate messing with the VGA cable but so far it's the only way to get the m17 connected to the Sony.
