Hi
At every game I used to play on my PC I had no problems to open the Console by pressing ^ ... but @ the m17 ... no chance ... I tryed ~ ^ combinations with strg + alt ... nothing happens ... (only Quake 4 ^ + strg + alt works)
I have a german keyboard and so the german Languagebar (DE insted of EN in the Taskbar)
Can sb help me ... searched in the internet and here but I found nothing about this problem ("in game Console" is often mixed up witch gaming console^^)

what happens if you press the ^ button in a text editor like word?
also, in some games you need to enable the console (such as CSS). -
e.g. if I write here and I press ^ it is ^ written
Thats why I think that it's the same "effect" in the game. And e.g in Crysis I can't finde an option to do is ... And when I run Crysis @ my PC I can, with out enable the console, open the console with ^ ...
You say as an example CSS ... there the console is a window ... I mean a little "window" comming from the top of the sceen during playing.
I will try to set the Keyboardlanguage to EN ...
Thanks 4 help

Try ~.
In left 4 dead, you need to enable console option first. -
in LFD do you anable it in the Options or config/startoptions?
-
in the options under keyboard i believe.
-
In my L4D it's the ` symbol
-
Solution: +devmode (startoptions)
Than "r_displayinfo = 1" is always enabled and the console is openable by pressing ^

add "+devmode" to the program's .exe name.
-
"G:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Bin64\Crysis.exe" +devmode
The " " have to end bevor +devmode?

i am lost by what you mean by "in game console"....????
-
Hm ... how to explain ... this is a "option" to use commands ingame
It normaly drops from the top and than you can write commands @ BF2, Crysis, Doom, Quake ...
At steamgames you have the console normaly in the middel of the menu(startoptions -console)
To make your game show your FPS for e.g

exactly. for example, in CS:Source, you can change the gravity in-game to different values with "sv_gravity X"... this lets you jump higher or float around, depending on the value.
-
edit: and @ Topic: "use console to show FPS rate: "net_graph "1" "
