installed the correct drivers
changed all the settings, disabled sensitivity-area of touch double click ect ect...
games play fine with a mouse ( never use a mouse for gaming)
bought an xbox controller but can use it

I think your palm might be touching the pad and you don't realize it. Have you tried disabling the pad while playing games? It's a simple FN+number.. I forget which.
-
Hi grey
dont want to disable the pad because i dont use a mouse to play, only use 1 finger on the whole pad at any time, i have even changed the sensitivity, double click ect ect.. to no effect
i think theres an issue with games and this pad
thanks for the reply -
nope he is right I play the same games with it sometimes. lol turn the sensitivity all the way down and lemme kno

Hi, mr Moo
does your player turn in randon directions irratically ? , not always thow ?, tried every move on cod waw but cant put it down to anything im doing wrong
Think im goin mad because this is happening every game, gives me a headake because i cant focus on my moves, say im running through a tunnel or along a bunker it will just make my player turn 90 degrees left- right- down ect ect or somtimes ill try turn away from a wall in it will turn back on its own !
im a pretty good player but cant join any clans and with this problem its very hard to aim specially when im using my iron sights and bolt action guns, dont mind using autos but prefere accurate shooting than spraying......
ok heres what ive done in the synaptics device settings if you can think of anything ive missed let me no tar..
1, disabled touchpad tapping
2, buttons, primary normal
secondry special
3, disabled scrolling
disabled edge motion when scrolling
4,scrolling region hatched areas reduced just incase above didnt work
5 edge motion disabled
6,incresed palmcheck to maximum
7, lastley touch sensitivity its on light touch because any heavier and it becomes very difficult to move without forcing you finger down because it a rubbery like surface.
these are all i can think of without it being a software issue with synaptics not complying becuse i have no probs surfing the net on word exel any other software apart from games,
please dont say use a mouse because this cost me £1400 and alienware is supposed to be one of the best gamming rigs, i sent mine back to alienware and its still not fixed.......and im now left with a huge hump on my keyboard that springs about when i tap,
dont like the touch pad buttons aswell because its a rocker setup and inbetween right a left clicks theres a big gap that looses you valuble milli seconds when alternating >>
installed the latest drivers done system restore, reinstalled the os
sorry to go on but gonna you tube my problems if i cant fix this
thanks -
all i did was turn the sensitivity all the way down..... so i really can't help you more
touch pad are not true gaming mice... -
I understand your situation now. The only advise I can give you would be to turn off mouse accelleration in your external mouse software and/or uncheck "Enhance pointer precision" and maybe that'll stop the sudden jolts you're getting. Other than that, I have no idea as you've already attempted to do just about everything else I can think of.
I'm impressed that you can game with a touchpad. For me, and I believe most others.. we use that pad as a last ditch kind of interface when you absolutely have no other solution to use. -
I had this problem too, the one way to fix it is to reinstall the driver. It took me a grand total of 3 minutes to fix it. Once the driver is reinstalled all you have to do is edit the settings in the control panel so that the palm check is high and your sensitivity is low -- and you should be back to the normal.

The only time I have had this problem is when my palm touched the touch pad.
