m17 videocard help

hey, i been tryin to fix this problem for a while now i dont know whats wrong, i got the 3870s in crossfire or atleast i think they are, gpu-z shows Enabled (2 gpus) unsure on vista64 and thats what im running, my catalyst control panel doesnt have the crossfire tab on it no matter what version of drivers i install so i cant check for sure, also i notice with gpuz that if i run atitools artifact test to stress the gpus only 1 gpu will be at 99% load and other will be at 0% the one with full load gets up to 78-79 deg c where as the other gets to like 65, also there fan speeds seem to never change from 30%, i cant get any versions of atitool or rivatuner to work so i cant change the fan speeds manually, also i seem to get almost instant computer freezes in wow sometimes and others it takes a while to freeze doesnt matter if it was a fresh boot or not its rather random.i did look to see if there was that tape still on the gpus and i didnt see anything so im assuming there wasnt. some help would be appreciated thanks.

window-mode 3d app only use 1 gpu.
Run a game in full screen mode to use 2 gpu.
