    m17 vista 64bit + spywaredoctor

    hi all just after some info ive stopped using spyware doctor with antivirus with my system ( my be coinsidence ) but i find that my files disapear and then my lappy wont work anymore as windows is corrupt or missing files, it was a toss up between that and faulty hard drive but i used diskeeper and im using same hard drive and it still works but im warey of using spywaredoctor as i dont want to reinstall again.


    anybody else used spyware doctor or any info on simular problem

    I would do some searches on the Spyware Doctor support forums, they have pretty through community troubleshooting there.

    As a general remark, though, you should avoid Spyware Doctor in general. Not only does it slow down your computer, but its detection rates aren't spectacular and it has various small problems (ex: when I used it once in the past, it messed up my power profiles and prevented my computer from entering standby or hibernate).

    I know it sucks but if you have to reformat at least you know not to use Spy Doctor again. I recommend using Avira ( http://www.avira.com/en/pages/index.php) or AVG ( http://www.avg.com/). Both companies provide free versions of their software and perhaps you can try the one that best suites your needs.
