Anyone able to successfully install audio drivers on their m17x using XP 32-bit? I can't seem to find any using XP Pro w/ SP3.

    Thanks for your help.

I just had the same issue with my m15x. The drivers are on the alienware site, just not under sound cards where you would assume they would be. They are under mobile systems.

    hope it helped.

Sorry. I thought that other people put theirs up under the m17x unboxing thread. I want to get XP Pro on this thing first and run some benchmarks and see if they get any higher than when using Vista.

I tried to download the audio drivers specific to my m17x under myHive, but there are driver issues as the ones provided are Vista based. Trying to find some XP compatible ones - otherwise, I got everything else working.

Problem solved. Thanks for everyone's help. Google search for "Realtek Audio Drivers" - brings me to an accessible link for drivers from Realtek's site.

@WhapAChow: Could you please teach me how to install Windows XP on M17x. I just got BSOD when they start install Windows. I have tried using Nlite to add SATA driver on the windows xp disc. But they keep give me BSOD.

Hi, I figured out how to install XP or XP64 on the m17X. You will need the following:
    1) nLite
    2) Your Windows XP media
    3) the WHQL drivers for the JMB eSATA driver <--- this is the key!!!!
    4) of course, if you run the Intel Matrix Storage Manager as the SATA controller, you will need to download that as well.

The issue here is with the DVD-ROM and the eSATA driver. What happens is that when Windows XP setup is running, it somehow loses track because it does not know the eSATA driver. In addition, even if you had the JMB eSATA driver, it may not be WHQL certified. If we needed to slipstream the drivers into the Windows setup, it has to be WHQL.

Therefore, you can just slipstream the WHQL JMB eSATA drivers into the Windows XP installation CD and F6 the Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver or you can slipstream both.

    This did it for me.

    Good luck!
