Hey all I haven't posted in a while seeing as my AW has been great, a lil dodge start but been good untill about a week ago when I just lost the will to live.
For starters the End key fell off - ok I know this isnt major but every pc, every laptop I have ever owned or worked on has never had keys fall off and it is somthing I have never thaught about and its really annoying as I use the end key a lot and am missing my little rectangular friendit also makes the laptop look unloved.
The fans aren't really working - Now me and Darkfly have noticed this before, my laptop gets very hot...and I mean very hot. I sat it on a table and the varnish actualy got sticky...no joke. The laptop was stuck to the table, but then other days it's completely fine.
Twin 8800gtx are failing - I keep getting problems in games with slow down and textures not rendering and I am not just talking abotu Crysis. COD4, Fear (which actauly stutters) and Unreal tournament 3. I played one level of COD4 with a flat grey un-rendered gunnow after reading a review (CNET I think?) and they say they are getting like over 100fps its like I get 50. I am currently re-installing the drivers for the 100th time.
Keyboard lag - had it for a while but it gets worse the longer the laptop is on and the hotter it gets.
HDD failure - When I turn the pc on it says the second HDD (I have 1TB) has an error and it didn't say that originally and I have lost some programs and work because of this.
Touch keys - the touch keys don't work when the laptop gets really hot.
Think it needs to go back? and anyone got/had the same sorta problems? and if so what is the time scale for getting them fixed seeing as I am at Uni and really need my laptop for work.

For the End key, is it actually broken? I've actually taken some keys off for experimental purposes and put them back on very easily.
For your GPU, what drivers are you running?
You might want to contact Roswell and/or PM Armando/James about some of these issues. -
oh man, those are a lot of serious problems. I would send it back and get it fixed as soon as possible. If not, id like to start on a clean slate and get a new one. u might want to consider that.

Well I dont want to get a new laptop seeing as I have had it for just about 2 months now.
The end key wont go back on, it fell off as soon as I unpacked it (it wasn't stuck on) but I clipped it back on and now it's fallen off and wont go back on.
I am running the drivers from myHive and the normal ones (non beta ones) -
I run single configuration 8800M GTX so I'm not positive, but I believe the 178.15 drivers from laptopvideo2go.com are safe and blu-ray compatible (although there is a blu-ray fix that allows all drivers to be blu-ray compatible). So, I'd recommend trying that.
For heat, what modes were you in? Or any other specifics you can divulge would help.
For keyboard lag, how do you type? I notice my keystrokes get read almost perfectly when I type claw style, the way I hold my mouse. I used to be worried about the keyboard lag now too but as long as the laptop is elevated enough/my fingers are in claw position, I don't actually get any lag anymore (specifically using double letters). I'm on the m15x though, so it may be different with the m17x.
Touch keys, how hot is hot exactly? I meant to ask this earlier as well. -
Cool thanks,
Even running in stealth mode it gets hot and my laptop became famous at uni for melting a gummy bear because it got really hot. I dont know any specifics tbh I aint tested it as it's to irregular to measure. I am thinking made a bad connection to the fan or somthing.
I dont really know the specifics of typing I touch type and I tend to rest my wrists on the bit infront of the keyboard and tbh I dont think the style I type in should affect the lag, it only seems to happen after the laptop has been on for a while.
as in so hot when you touch them its uncomfotable, so hot that when I turn it off I cannot turn it back on because the power button is not respondingi think its got to go back!

Small chance you have a defective CPU then. Armando/James/Roswell should be able to clear that up for you. If you can, use HWMonitor to monitor your temps and get back to us.
