Wow the SSD upgrade went from $400 to $520. I'm going to wait for the Blu-ray burner to be offered before I put in my order.

omg, im getting my new m17x back on warranty, i wonder if they will send me a refreshed version??
i live in australia and had the laptop for less than 30 days and it basicly died, and there is no way in hell im getting the same specd laptop back, its either an upgrade or money back thnx

Oh yea, I'd only ever order ATI. Plus they are £200 odd cheaper compared to the dual nvidia in the UK store than the US one!

 

No EPP discount yet. I wonder how long it will take them to update the website on EPP.

 

The won't send you a refreshed as you didn't pay for an i series processor

 

I'm going to call and do this as well as soon as I get my money back from this M17X I got. Sending it back day after tommorrow so I can game on my only day off But it should save me $470. Hopefully they have the Blu-Ray burner by the time I order.

EDIT: Anyone know of anyone making a 7200RPM 640GB drive? I believe that is a mistake on the RAID setup, but if not, then all the better.

 

spoke to tech support alienware euro, and their system has the blueray avaiable. although they dont have the refreshed system online yet as i spoke to them this morning!

As you can see, i'm not holding a massive amount of hope.

 

The UK's M17x is still C2D only, but it's a much better deal than it used to be at least. 2.8GHz C2D as standard and a single 4870 with an extra 4870 being so cheap.

Hm, I might just sell my current M17x once the refreshed ones are available in Europe.

 

just spoken to alienware tech support europe, and the only thing they would let on was they thought it would be same time it normaly takes. ie when m17x was released.

 

Anyone got any idea how long it took for the euro site to update after the USA site? As in once the M17x became available in the US how long was it before the UK got order it?

 

Dude tell me about it! I just returned my M17x today and I have already placed my new order with the Extreme i7 with turbo boost and the new RGB 1200p screen! Damn I'm glad I didn't order my M17x more than 21 day ago lol.

that's the reason why netbooks all have led in them instead of lcd even though they are trying to keep the prices low. the pro out weighs the cons.
