    yeah im wanting to know if it was just a bad chip or not.. the q9200 is in fact a qx9300 just with a half multi less..sucks because i bought one myself i have sitting till i get my system and now im wondering if i should get rid of it or not in the meantime.. i wish someone else was able to have done this by now.. i may just get a t9900 or x9100 and say forget the quad...

    Will these T9900s fit in an M17 without issue?

    I found this one on Ebay;

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OEM-3-06GHz-6MB-1066MHz-35W-Intel-Core-2-Duo-T9900-CPU_W0QQitemZ290328069238QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item4398e6c476&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177&_trkparms=|293:1|294:50

    How would it compare to an x9100?

    Well even if it's not OC'able, it's still a good chip. For the price I payed, it's well worth buying.

    AC/DC it is a good chipfor sure for the money . If i were not an Overlcocking person i would not hesitate to keep since its solid at the default speed.

    You may have better luck with yours as well so i woudlnt even worry much about till you try it .

    It might OC further then the x9100 but it will hit the same clocks as the x9100 EASY

    they will both oc to the same thing pretty much. i really dont think myself one will get any higher than the other starting from the same speeds. BUT the t9900 has lower power requirements so it will run a bit cooler and also use a bit less power at the same speeds. now throw that all out the window when overclocking though... because if you are a overclocker you will know that .1 jump in chpu speed could require huge voltage increases once a certain speed is hit.. its like a wall.. i have a chip that needs .18 more volts to only go up 300 once over 4ghz under that it scales with almost no voltage at all though (a desktop chip)

    I still say its hit or miss regardless of revision . Overclk350(a member here) is sitting pretty at 2.93 on his QAVS.

    Mine will run at 3.06, but it's not 100% stable. It'll run that way 90% of the time, but every once in a while it'll blue screen goin into windows.

    Hmmm, there's some on Ebay (QAVR) right now that are £190 Buy Now with Make Offer...half tempted to buy one to test against my X9100 and keep the chip that works better...dangerous (and expensive) line of thought!

    Yeah I have, max my QAVR can go is 2.66 stable, 2.8 gets unstable, 2.66 is pretty good though considering its a quad with 12mb L2 and I only paid 225 USD for it.

    But not all chips are the same, you may get one that can do 2.93 easily or one that can only do what mine can.
