    m17x UK WILL NOT have Montevina

    I have just got off the phone from Geoffrey at 08002799751 Alienware Customer Service UK and I stated asking when the m17x will be out in the UK, I was then told the end of June.......Okay now I was annoyed, 2 month delay from US to UK is rediculous. I asked what the hold up was and he said he didnt have that information (standard Alienware policy) I then proceeded to ask what platform will be in the m17x and he came back with Montevina......I asked him again....What platform will it have, he said monetvina. I asked him if he knew 110% that it was Montevina in the laptop and he said Yes Montevina.

    I obviously don't believe him as its alienware customer service, however I didnt mention montevina to him first....he knew what it was.....before I said anything.

    Like most of us know AW is well know by do not refreshing there systems !!. DELL yes but AW no way!!. Unless DELL is in charge of the Manufacturing process ;).

    Alienwarez@: Most of the European guys are hopping to have in this BB the Montavina chipset, but realistically that is not going to happen :( .

    The information that you have from the AW Sales guy is not very reliable, I learned that by experience !!

    What is the problem ? Why takes so long to have the new model in Europe? I noticed that in the US web site it takes 1 month to deliver a new m17x. Is it because you are running short on some components?

    Can you give us some insides ??

    If this is true then its a good explanation why it is delayed but unfortunately this will also mean it will be delayed even longer! :( So no m17x in June, maybe end of July...

    I just emialed the Uk info address asking about the release and the romours of Monty, i think it's a good idea for everyone to do the same, maybe if we get lots of the same reply, whatever it is, it might prove/disprove the reliability of the CS system...

    You have to be aware that most of the guys around, have very good laptop experience. Some of them had some bad AW experiences as well.

    If they are posting in this forum is because they want to belive that AW will improve there QUALITY and there COSTUMER APPROACH.

    Please remember that if you really want to help AW, you should pass a clear message to AW about what there truly AW costumers are expecting.

    Plz We do not want to hear the typical Sales man speech !!

    I would like to confirm the m17x will not have Montevina, it will be an SR platform only. We apologize for the confusion.

    Guys, as far as I know this is the second time AW confirms that Montevina will not be released for the M15X and M17X... well there you have it.

    Thanks "A", it's great that you will take the time to clarify this situation.

    It seems that there is some kind of information problem with regards to the CS agents, if they are telling people completely wrong things over the phone.

    Kinda looks bad when the guys are saying the wrong info, for whatever reason, expecially as the m17x is so sought after...

    I have to wonder what kind of support they can actually give if the appear to know nothing about current products (or at least very little :) )

    Don't get me wrong, i'm not knocking you guys or anything like that, it's just that rading about peoples experiences in dealing with the AW CS, it seems that it's a hit and miss theory at the moment. Training need possibly?

    rubbish.lol this type of thing has almost just made me buy a cizmo, rediculous, i asked the guy 110% if it was montevina and he said yes, i said no santa rosa and he said no it will be montevina. its rediculous. If i do buy the m17x and its santa rosa then goes to montevina then i want a refund.lol

    I just placed an order for an m15x this week and quite frankly this is all spooking me with talks of changes and revises to the m15x. Black didnt come out and now m17x is no where in sight for the UK so I had to choose the m15x. Saving that money to lead to this just has a bad feeling. Wish I could go for the m17x.

    AW should recruit customer service from this forum.... honestly i spend like 30mins here a day and i know a crap ton more than any one ive chatted with talked to from AW who is not basicaly at the top. whats wrong with your lower staff... is it really that hard to find some tech savvy jobless teens

    I have to agree with you too, i just rang up Alienware Uk to ask about the release date of the m17x and i was told end of June, apparently because of some delay. I asked what this was and was told "end of June", I then asked what the delay was and was told "oh, becauses of other thingsd being relased first"... I didn't bother asking what these were as the person on the phone didn't appear to know much at all, either that or they weren't allowed to say...

    Grrr Argh!!!

    Tech support and customer service reps are usually not privileged to information about upcoming products until a few days or even a few hours before they are released. It looks like Alienware is no different.
